The legal fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has been making headlines, but this week highlighted an unexpected event in the courthouse. Lively’s reported mahjong set delivery during their court-ordered mediation in Manhattan. The “Gossip Girl” alum reportedly arrived around 8:30 a.m. while mediation began at 10 a.m. By late morning, she seemed to want something to do while the process went on.

Page Six exclusively reported that Blake Lively had her chauffeur bring her mahjong set to the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse while in the middle of mediation with Justin Baldoni. The centuries-old tile game is apparently not new to her. In a previous interview with Vogue, Lively spoke about teaching friends how to play, saying, “I have been teaching friends how to play Mahjong, though I need to say I’m not a certified teacher.”

Lively added, “But I know enough to teach my friends how to play with me, and in the end, I always end up gifting them my own set because they are obsessed and want to practice.” Additionally, Page Six noted that Lively has been linked to Oh My Mahjong sets, which can cost several hundred dollars.

Notably, this was a high-stakes mediation. Lively and Baldoni, who starred together in “It Ends with Us,” met in person at a Manhattan federal court for the first time since she filed her lawsuit in December 2024. She seeks over $160 million in damages, while Baldoni has denied wrongdoing.

A judge previously dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in June 2025. But recent filings have brought private messages involving other stars, including Taylor Swift, under public scrutiny.

After the roughly six-hour mediation on February 11, the two co-stars did not reach a settlement. The legal battle remains on track for trial. The court has reportedly set a May 18 start date.
