Amber Glenn, a 26-year old figure skater out of Plano, Texas did more than give a record-shattering performance during her short program at the U.S. Nationals Figure Skating Championship. During her January 7, 2026, she timed every flawless movement on the ice seamlessly with a pop-culture musical phenomenon that momentarily turned the arena into a Madonna tribute show.
As soon as Glenn took the ice, the crowd could be heard singing their favorite lyrics to the 1989 hit song. Her moment was more than just record-breaking scores and technical precision ā it was the unmistakable sound of Madonna's "Like a Prayer" echoing through the arena as the crowd clapped and sang along.

The video of Glenn's performance has been shared on social media channels, and the reactions to her skate, energy, and song choice are next level. Glenn's skating posted a score of 83.05, breaking the previous record by almost 4 points, and put her in first place for the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Championship. Her second and final performance of the competition airs tonight, January 9, 2026, on NBC Sports and Peacock. U.S. Figure Skating will announce the 2026 Olympic team heading to the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games on Sunday, January 11, at 2 p.m. ET.
