During Thursday's episode of *The View*, the EGOT winner accused the president of having “Obama and Biden Derangement Syndrome” after he claimed to have “inherited a mess” from the previous Biden administration during his year-end address on Wednesday night. **

“He always likes to say people have Trump derangement,” Goldberg said. “But I feel like he’s got Obama and Biden Derangement Syndrome, because he said their names I don’t know how many times. You can’t keep going to that well. That well is dry.”

Speaking directly to Trump, she continued, “This is on you! You did this! This is what you’ve put together. It’s not them, it’s nobody but you. It’s you.”

Trump has claimed that several prominent figures — most recently late director Rob Reiner — suffer from a fictional ailment called Trump Derangement Syndrome. The 79-year-old former reality star claimed on social media that the syndrome led Reiner to drive "people CRAZY" with his "raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump" and "his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness."**

He has also lashed out repeatedly at both Joe Biden and Barack Obama throughout his time in office, most recently by installing plaques that mock their presidencies in the White House.

Speaking about Trump's address, *View* cohost Sunny Hostin explained that she sought help from “Professor ChatGPT” to verify his many claims. “He lied so many times that I actually couldn’t catch up,” she said.

That includes Trump’s claim that prices on prescription drugs would be cut “as much as 400, 500, and 600 percent” thanks to his intervention. “Well, Professor ChatGPT says that that is mathematically impossible,” Hostin said. “And, even if the president got the companies to reduce the prices of all their drugs to zero, that would only be a 100 percent cut. It’s not possible.”**

Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, “You will get paid for those drugs!”

The Republican cohost noted that three things really stood out to her about the address.

“He didn’t preview any major economic policies that are actually going to bring costs down. We’re going into a new year and we’re just supposed to hope that it’s the hottest country on Earth and something happens?” Griffin asked. “A lot of why costs are so high are his own tariff regimen. If he rolled those back, a lot of consumer costs would come down.” **

She also called out Trump’s “lack of compassion” for those struggling to make ends meet right now. “I get it, he’s a wealthy person surrounded by wealthy people,” Griffin said, “but all my family group chats are about how everything is so expensive right now and he needs to get how Americans feel.”

Griffin also claimed that Trump sabotaged his own accomplishments by deciding to “make up stats” that can be easily disproven through fact-checking. “You undermine your own point when you kinda throw something out of thin air,” she added. **

Still, she did give him credit on his $1776 bonus for troops, although Goldberg wasn’t sure that those checks would ever actually be sent. “Let’s see if they get the checks,” Goldberg remarked. “I want to see them get it first.” **

However, Griffin stressed that “all Americans need help right now and just a handout isn’t the answer, smart policies are the answer.”
