Zach Braff kept foam antlers from a fantasy scene in the Scrubs pilot and has had them for 25 years
Sarah Chalke, meanwhile, wanted to take Rowdy, J.D.'s stuffed dog, but ultimately kept her scrubs from the show
Scrubs ran for nine seasons and featured a cast including Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley
Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke both still have props from the original run of Scrubs that they’ve held onto for decades.
At the Scrubs season 10 panel at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, the two cast members reflected on the items they did, and didn’t, take from the original set of Sacred Heart Hospital.
Braff, who plays Dr. John Dorian “J.D." in the show, tells PEOPLE at the April 11 event that he still has “antlers from the original pilot.”

“If you remember, there's a fantasy in the original pilot where J.D. is a deer in headlights. And they were sculpted from foam, but they're amazing," Braff, 51, shares. "They look totally real, but they're foam. And I've had those for 25 years."
Chalke, meanwhile, wasn't able to snag the first item from her list. The 49-year-old actress shares that she “tried to get Rowdy, but that was impossible.”
“Rowdy was like super under lock and key,” Chalke jokes.
Rowdy was J.D.'s stuffed dog, which Braff's character often treated as a real dog with Dr. Turk, played by Donald Faison. The duo — who are best friends both on and off the screen — purchased Rowdy already stuffed at a yard sale.
While Chalke wasn't able to keep the taxidermied golden retriever, she held onto something else.

Scrubs ran for nine seasons, from 2001 to 2010. In addition to Braff, Chalke and Faison, the show starred Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins and Christa Miller, to name a few.
During the show's original run, Braff received three Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nod.

Twenty-five years after the show aired, it returned to the small screen with a revival and a continuation of the show.
When talking to PEOPLE in February 2026, Braff admitted it was “really shocking” to learn the ages of some of his new Scrubs costars, who were either too young or not yet to be born when the series originally aired.
“I knew that we made the show in 2000, but I'm acting with these 25-year-olds who are brilliant and smart and clever, and then they say they were born in 2000, and it kind of blows your mind," Braff shared.
"It's weird when you're like, ‘What? But you're my work friend. You weren't alive when we made the show?’" he continued. "It's weird when you do the math, it doesn't feel right."
